The Palace on Wheels luxury train is no less than a five star hotel on wheels. The Palace on Wheels train can also be compared to a luxury cruise, which offers its passenger a host of facilities. Once aboard the Palace on Wheels, expect to be treated like a modern day Maharaja.  Luxury accommodation on the trains is available in its 14 fully air-conditioned deluxe saloons with each saloon having 4 cabins attached with bath and shower, intercom, satellite phones, channel music, wall to wall carpeting and other amenities.

One can enjoy fine dining experience aboard Palace on Wheels. The train has two restaurants that tickle the taste buds of the guests aboard the train. The two restaurants cum kitchen cars named as the Maharaja and the Maharani. These two restaurants serve eclectic traditional Rajasthani, Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine.

To entertain the guests and keep them busy on a moving train, the Palace on Wheels has a separate lounge at the end of each coach. The lounge offers passengers a place to relax when they come out of their bedrooms. The lounge on the train is an ideal place to mingle with fellow travellers.  Here one can enjoy a drink, interact with other passengers or read a book. The lounge also offers a good collection of books to choose from. Each lounge is provided with a color television and a CD player. The lounge with large windows also provides you with an exotic view of great Indian countryside during the daytime. One can also find all the well known newspapers and journals here.

Bar is another facility that is available on the Palace on Wheels train. A well stocked and maintained bar is always open for guests. It has a stock of Indian and international brands and a variety of scotch, wines and cocktails.

The other facilities available on Palace on Wheels include laundry services, barbershop and beauty parlors. A mailbox is also provided on board for posting your mails.
